I was born and raised in Port Alberni on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. During my career in the newspaper business, I began writing books as well as the popuIar history column "This is Then" which has been featured in newspaper and magazines. I am committed to life long learning and community improvement through service and volunteering. I am vice president on the Chamber of Commerce which allows me to help local businesses grow and succeed. I have been heavily involved in the Raise a Reader program which combats illiteracy in our community. I have written 9 books so far as well and use my experience in advertising to help customers increase their social media presence and digital marketing effectiveness as well as grant writing and proposal writing.
